The Explain Part of lesson6

As the lesson6 of other part are published by GDS,
I thought I should remain my blog post remail as published by GDs.
So I post other (This ) post for EXPLAI psrt of homework.

Explain (e-Portfolio)Write a post reflecting on GDS with reference to the four SCICU Key Questions.
1. What are the main skills needed to use GDS?

I suppose that the good team working is needed to
make the most of GDs when people use it in the group working.
For Example, The one one revice a part and want to listen other people
how they think about the revise that man did on GDs,
he have to send e-mail and ask them
" hey, I revised GDs's 7th sentense and picture no6. Look at it and tell
me what you thank about my revice."
Of course GDs, is very useful to share the infomation without use attackment,
however, at last what is most needed is hoe they check and communicate with
published documents on networking.

2. What are the affordances of GDS (what does it make possible, what does it impede)?
The strength of using GD is as follows.1. member can edit one document at the same time.
2.member can see and edit the document without any memory( such as USB). 3.As my PPT,
they can publish their document or pictures on their bblog or HP easily.
The weakness of using GDs are as follows.1 they are less likely to have communication.
2. It is a bit diffocult to learn all the functio of GDs.

3. How can GDS be used to network professionally and connect you (& other students) to learning resources?
The most impotant think might be a timely ckeck on GDs.
As team members do not exactly know when other team member edit the documt,
It is easy to depend on other team members and say, "Others might edit all".
If tehy share the data,, members should check GDs timely must be necesallity.

4. What skills and understandings have you learned about GDS that may promote your development as an effective learner in the digital age?
As the digital techs are on ging rapidly, it would be inportnat that we are allways
seeking new good and finctions. In the usual life " Especially when we got ot work" we do not often have chance to what kind of systems can we use and how they are useful. NMO one will
tell us and we hace to serch what the most useful service for each.
As the conclution, I suppose that love using internet and continuing loonking for somthing
useful apprication is the most importnat to study efficetively in this digital era from now on.

Thank you all class teaching and I am sorry that I can not attend class today!!

Lesson6

Think
(e-Portfolio)

Before you began this course, what did you do (or still do) when you need to collaborate with other students on a project outside of class?

In other words, what do you usually do if you want to show someone what you have done?

I have been made mailing list and share all e-mails.

I have necesality to share more big and many documents,

I made yahoo breif-case and share these documents.

What do you do if you need to work on it at the same time?

as we are all too busy, i have never have internet meeting.
At my office, we sometimes have meeting by skype .

How do you feel about doing collaborative work?
It is tough and difficult to connect our ideas.
in fact I am not very good at it.

Explore
(e-Portfolio)

It is easy to learn a new way to create, share, publish, collaborate, and access you work anywhere.
The video that follows explains more about Google Docs and Spreadsheets. Watch it a few times,
stop and start it at critical points
(the narration is fast!), take some notes.
Try to identify
two or three things about using GDS that could make studying easier for you.
by using GDs...
1, make documents on networks.
2, present document on the network
3, sending & sharing infomation to partner

I suppose that GDs is surely useful when everyone are very familiar to GDs,
it would be nice tool for collaborating.
However, it is difficult to administer & invite friends who can do someting for your
document.

3. (ROW) Take a survey. Take
a quick survey of about fifteen (15) students (classmates and others)
to find out
about a little bit about their experience of collaborating
with other students (**also ask each SCICU classmate
their email address, you will need it later**)
.
After you have collected your data, analyse it and identify similar
responses.
Group similar responses to create a few categories and tally
up the number of responses in each category.

Research Question: (Ask each student something like this) When a teacher has required you to collaborate with
other students on a project outside class,
what has been the main cause of any frustration you have experienced?

as the result the idea found out were " annoying" " tough ( to coodinate time ) .
It seems that everyone so not hate group work but
Not small numbers of people think that it is very stressful to make schedule .

4. (ROW) Put your results into a table.
In Docs Home, create a new spreadsheet. Make a simple spreadsheet to

display your results. Label the data in your spreadsheet e.g. Stumbling
blocks in collaboration, Number of responses
. You might like to refer
to this sample data sheet, however, be sure to use categories which relate to the responses that you have collected.
See next publish of spread sheet.

lesson4

Do
1. (e-Portfolio) How to use Delicious.
Take some time to view a couple of these
presentations on Delicious 1 2 3 4 (easiest first,
more detailed last). Please focus on identifying what
you already know, as well as two or three things that
you did not know, which may make studying easier for
you. You should take some notes.
I understnad how to use delcious. I already know
that delcious is a bookmarking sites however I didi
not know that tagging is such a useful thing.
I also did not nknow that many people can share
our bookmarking. For mewhat made me suprise most is
it was easy to use and edit.

2. (ROW) Personal research. Spend some time now to
search for useful resources on any aspects of social
computing (4~5 web pages is OK). Share your research
by tagging each item with 'scicu'.
i did. i bookmarked cnet.japan and monowatch
and nikoniko movie site and itokuro conpany site.

Think (e-Portfolio)
1. Which sites do you visit regularly?
Make a list (4~5 is fine). Before you began this course,
what did you do (or still do) to keep yourself up to date
on new content posted to your favourite sites?
What I will go usually is
cnet.japan
makezine.jp http://markezine.jp/
http://www.nicovideo.jp/
manowahch http://www.j-cast.com/mono/
monometro.jp http://www.monometro.jp/

before i toka ethis class i some went these sites
on weekend and see the contents ranking which is more used
by more users.

Explore (e-Portfolio)
1. Websites that display a button similar to the ones here
on the right have an RSS feed that you can subscribe to.
Visit a few of the sites that you listed above (Think step).
Look over each site carefully, can you find an RSS button?
You might need to scroll down the page, and you will need to
look carefully if it is a 'busy' page. Which of your favourite
sites provide an RSS feed?
cnet japan i like best.

Write RSS next to each of these sites
in your list. Which ones don't?
monometro and http://www.nicovideo.jp/
does not have RSS button.

Can you think why some sites do not?
i supoose that monometro does not have the RSS
because i is promotaed by person not by company and
that site does not indent to get more and more readers
to enhance the media value.
On theother hand http://www.nicovideo.jp/
does not have RSS because it is too radically
updated and can not chatch up with the all infomation
I suppose.

2. How to collect information automatically.
Please watch this video that explains more
about RSS and how to set up Google Reader,
RSS is the tool to catch up with the infomation
which is always updated and change.
i make a page in google/readers and
I can collect my favorites site's latest topic an it.

Do
1. (ROW) SCICU set up. Please do these things:
a) Get Google Reader
i made it.

b) Subscribe to the following sites:
* Your favourite sites with RSS feeds, i.e. from Think above
I add three site wihch have RSS.
* Your classmates' e-Portfolios
I add three people's e-portfolio, Yuki's ,ken's and richika's,

* SCICU class Research Collection (i.e. items tagged 'scicu' saved and shared at Delicious)
I added it.

You might also like to subscribe to:
* Word of the day * Grammar Girl * Japan Times

2. (e-Portfolio) Personal Research. Spend sometime now searching
for some sites related to a particular personal interest connected
to study or leisure activities. Add the name of your topic to your
Record of Work for Lesson 5. Try to find 4~5 excellent web pages,
which also have an RSS button. Please select your sites critically,
the resources you choose should be genuinely useful to you. Later,
you will select one of your sources and tell the class what it is,
where you found it, and why you chose it.
http://se-rusu1.com/
http://it.nikkei.co.jp/
http://techon.nikkeibp.co.jp/

Please try out 2 or 3
(or more) of these search and reference sites, as well as Google.
It is useful to learn to use different search engines, which work
differently and return different results and present the results
to you in different ways. As a researcher you need to be familiar
with range of search tools, even if Google remains your first choice.
I used
KartOO Squidoo ChaCha BlinkBits
billobe yaho google livedoor

Save and share your research. Save the most useful and interesting
sites you find to Delicious by tagging each web page with 'scicu',
this will mean that your discoveries will appear in the Class Web Box.
Please also note that you should post a minimum 20 resources during
the course to our shared research collection maintained at Delicious.
As outlined in Course Information, this is worth 5% of your
total score for SCICU

Lesson2

Think (SCICU e-Portfolio)
Before you began this course,
what arrangements did you make (or still do) to try and ensure that
you could do any work you wanted to do during the day?
I downloaded some tool bars to make it easy to get some extensions.
And i ask some people what kind of extensions they are using and why.
Many boys said they do not link too much tool bars are set around the
Browsers and girls love to get as much as extensions.
I found the difference is interesting.

Explore (SCICU e-Portfolio)
View a couple of these screenshot tours 1 2 3 4 showing
how different users have developed a personal work environment in Firebox (FF).
Take notes on some of the features that look interesting.
It is interesting but frightening that Fire Fox re-present the site which I saw it
last time I used FF. I suppose as not always one person use the PC, it is
dangerous to show the page which is last time shown from the point of view of security of information.

Do (ROW)
1. Install Portable Firefox on your USB drive
(If you regularly work on a Mac you might be interested
in Portable Firefox for Mac). Please see this video.
It is interesting that there is portable version of FF.
At first I could not understand why there is portable version but I understood that
some computer do not allow people to install FF
if it does not need much time , but for the security reason.

2. Some basic requirements: Make the SCICU homepage
and Web box and the DIY Textbook your FF Home Pages. Open each of the three preceding pages
in a new tab in FF (Ctrl +click). Go to Tools≫Options≫Main. Click 'Use Current Pages'.
I did. It is easy and nice to use digital text because I do not have to bring
a amount of package from my house!

3. Install the extensions below. Extensions are small add-ons that add new functionality
to Firefox, from a simple toolbar button to a completely new feature. They allow you to
customize Firefox according to your needs and preferences.
I thought it is annoying that I could not see even usual movies without ad-ons.
Plus some ad-ons are not very fit with my Vista Windows. That is terrible!!

4. Add 2 or 3 more extensions (you can also add more later) to begin developing Firefox
into your own PLE. (Tools≫Add-ons≫See All Recommended Add-ons). I encourage you
to browse the categories (on the left hand side of the add-ons page) and look especially
for add-ons that may be useful for researching, studying, and completing your university work. Michael Calore recommends Research Word, which "gives Firefox a handy contextual menu item to look up words and phrases in a variety of sources. Select the word you want to lookup, then right-click it to access definitions from Wikipedia, Google Definitions, IMDb, and more. For the science majors there’s Biotech, which offers some links and tools for people wanting to research in the field of Biotechnology." Inline Google Definitions is much simpler than Research Word, and shows Google definitions for the selected word.
I putted "Kabodle" ad-on. It is item-based bookmarking button. It is popularin america. It is cool and interesting ! As I did not know that google had it ad-ons, I suprised a lot!

Explain (SCICU e-Portfolio)
1. What are the main skills needed to use your PLE?
I have to get the knowledge which ad-on is most suitable for my purpose
as there are a lot of ad-ons are prepared.

2. What are the affordances of your PLE (what does it make possible,
what does it impede)?
It is very useful especially I have to use the PC I can not install FF to
bring my FF in my memory, However it is a bit heavy to bring FF( It cost more than 6M!)
Plus I use 10 or more memories, is sometimes difficult to bring FF always.

3. How can your PLE be used to network professionally
and connect you (& other students) to learning resources?
PLE allows me to reach the information I want as rapid as possible.
It is true that I can find the same information whatever kind of PC or Browsers i use,
but it is most easy to use same FF that I customize.

4. What skills and understandings have you learned from creating a
PLE that may promote your development as an effective learner in the digital age?
It is important to decide what is necessarily for my FF or not,
I realize that what is important is very different people by people. i have to customize
and organize my office environment inside of PC by myself,.
